- Time: 12:00 PM
- Setting: Cairo, Egypt. The Market.
- Weather Conditions: Sunny, and dry. Windy.
To the market, to the market. Oh, yes. To the market. Osir was out wandering through Cairo and just taking in the scenes as he went. He was just exploring and making sure that no one was up to no good, his usual duty besides protecting the royal family. Dressed in his full army attire, he continued down the sandy streets, looking for something of interest. Nothing so far, but the people of the city seemed to be very aware of who he was--something in the form of respect is what he usually got. Osir was one to not show real emotion when he was around the citizens of Egypt, and as such he made sure that he did not smile. It just wasn't something that he did much of around the people of Egypt, as he wanted them to take him seriously for the most part and to think of him as being one of great value. Who had yet to see what he has done? Osir was a great protector of the Pharoah and his family! He was a proud leader, and one that did his best to follow through on his orders. Osir also had strict orders from the king himself, in which he stated that he was to keep an eye out for suspicious people--he just wasn't informed why at the time. But why would he tell him that? Was he worried over something? Osir tried to not think of the reasons why he wasn't told about the situation, and just continued to do what the Pharoah instructed him to do. He would not fail. That was his promise. As the man continued to walk down the sandy pathways of the market, something caught him from the corner of his eye. A dark figure in the shadows. Something was lurking over in the alleyway, and being determined to find out who or what it was, he silently walked over to the area. Osir was at the ready for anything, and if approaching in secret wasn't enough, then he would face who ever it was head on. Osir was not afraid. No. And as the sun shown over in the heavens, his view grew clearer. The man couldn't make out who it was exactly, but he kept his cool, and prepared himself to grab his swords for combat at any moment. Who ever this was, would not take him by surprise. No way. They would have no such luck with good old Osir!

He hated the sun. It was too damn bright to be out in the city, and his eyes were indeed very sensitive to the warm rays of light. Heru. A great sorcerer, tormentor, and over all dark person--that was who he was. The man hated to mingle around the other's of Cairo, and even though he wanted nothing to do with them, he still had a reason to venture out into the market. Just a bit of light shopping, and all that jazz.
But what were his true motives? Heru usually kept himself all too well in secret, and only ventured out from his lair to get something that he wanted. He was not one to socialize, and as such kept his distance from other people. Heru wanted nothing to do with them, and so as he crept through the dark alleyways, he came upon a sight that one would not expect to see. A strong and powerful looking man was heading over towards his direction--and a confrontation was not what he wanted at that time.
Heru pulled his long hood over-top his head, and tried to remain unseen the best he could. A fight would not be a good thing, as he was only equipped with his small staff-like scepter, and although he would welcome a fight--that warrior who looked his way would be something he wasn't prepared for at the moment. Or maybe he was, and he just wasn't telling? Only time would say. Only time.
Time for a little bit of excitement, I should say! Heru thought to himself, and shot a direct glare towards the man who was approaching him. Arrogant and confident! Maybe this little game could turn into something much more? But even as amusing as it had seemed, the sorcerer was very curious, and by the looks of it, the warrior was one of the Pharoah's military men. Someone from the armed forces. "Heh. This'll be interesting." He muttered silently, watching the man from the shadows of the alley.

Osir could not help but notice the glare that the mysterious one had shot at him. Was he really itching for a brawl with the Pharaoh's commander? Probably so! But could one really be sure? Not a chance. Osir had never seen this stranger before, but he was odd of many sorts and very, very, dark.
Playing games, are we? The great warrior thought, as he emerged into the scene with the man, preparing to draw his sword at the ready. "You know that the Pharaoh does not take kindly to such strangers. What means are you here for?" Osir questioned, unsure of where the guy was from or what social class he might have been in.
The man whom stood before him was dressed in dark attire, and did not seem to be the friendly of sorts. "And don't think that you'll get out alive, with that little glare of yours either. Pharaoh Seti will have your head if you are not of good will." The army general told Heru, drawing one of his swords, and holding the point towards the man.

Nyra stood in a corner of the marketplace, eyeing the two men who were glaring at each other. She pulled her hood down even more when she recognized one of them. He was one of Seti's men. The other she had never seen before.
Carefully she approached the two men, careful not to draw attention to herself. As she came closer she saw that the dark robed man carried some kind of sceptor. It would fetch a good price. Now if she could get close enough with rousing suspicion.
Silently she stood in the shadows, waiting for her chance to strike.

Heru smirked slyly. His eyes remained dark, and to quite his surprise, he noticed that the commander had drawn his sword. "Stranger? I don't think I am much of a stranger here! I've lived in Cairo all of my life--and never bothered a single soul!" The sorcerer said calmly in his own wicked little way. Surely the one whom stood before him would have at least some decency to say the least--and he just wished that Osir would put away his sword.
But was he scared? Heru did not give a care about fear, as usually it was he whom had brought it down like a plague on the innocent! But who could truly claim to be innocent in a wretched little world, where everything was under the rule of one? Innocence never existed in his mind. No. For it was something that he had came to believe, and through the triumphs and struggles, Heru had learned it well. "But would Pharaoh Seti, really have my head for doing nothing? I was only passing by!" He spoke, letting out another dark and wild grin.
Something else had caught his eyes at that very moment, and slightly glancing over, he thought he had seen someone else. Who was lurking in the shadows over yonder? Not someone the dark Heru knew for sure! Or was his insane little mind playing tricks on him? Who's to say? "But, since we are on the subject, what means do you have to stop me, oh, so sudden?" The dark one responded to his own words, as the winds picked up and cast sand in their direction. Such an interesting confrontation! I wonder how well this will play out in the end? Heru thought, looking out the corner of his eye again to see if that lurker was still there.

She had been noticed! Nyra's instincts were screaming at her to run. There was something about this man that was enately evil. She couldn't put her finger on it. He would be a challenge though and most men like him underestimated her.
Hesistantly she inched towards them. When she was close, she came out of the darkness, dropping to her knees before the two men. "Please sirs. I am a poor begger. I haven't eaten in four days! Can you spare any money so I may not starve?" Nyra smiled to herself, keeping her head down so they wouldn't see.

Heru let out a glare. Who did she think he was? The great sorcerer did not have time to deal with those of inferior status! But still though, it did not change the fact that he had money, and the wealth that shown every certain day. It was fact. But was he willing to share with this feeble peasant? Not a chance! "Hey, lady! Why don't you go somewhere and find someone else to torture with your begging!" Heru said, now turning his focus back to the Pharaoh's warrior, Osir.
"And listen, my friend, why don't you get your sword out of my face? I don't have the time to deal with you right now!" Heru snickered, not seeming to care one way or the other. Seriously. Did he really need to deal with such nonsense, when he wasn't doing a thing to bother the king's warrior? He just decided to come over and snoop in his business! And so what if he was lurking in the shadows? It wasn't that odd! Or was it?
"You see, this is a pointless quarrel! You don't have anything against me!" The dark man started up again, looking directly at Osir. He already had something against him--and he really did not like the man's nosiness. How rude! And that was the truth. Or what Heru thought it to be at least. The man just wanted to escape the scene with his limbs and head still attached. But would he let him go?

Osir kept his serious face, but was a bit kinder to the woman than Heru. "Miss, I assure you, if you are in need of assistance, then I will help you. But as you can see, that is near impossible now as I am dealing with a case of chaos here." He told her, soon turning back to face the demonically dark man known as Heru. Osir did not like this man. He was terrible with the way he spoke towards him and the lady, and that would not be tolerated. Not one bit.
"Now, you listen here! You have no right to speak to me in such a nasty way! And I am sure if you continue on, the great Pharaoh Seti will have your head on a silver platter! And don't give me that look, as I will only reward fools with sudden suffering under the rule of the gods. Do I make myself clear?"
Such a foul creature this man is. Does he not know how to address the commander of the king? And what of his rudeness with the lady? She clearly needs assistance. His foulness will not be tolerated here, and if this continues, I am sure he will not enjoy the time he will spend in the royal prison! Osir thought, clenching his grip harder on Heru. Osir was really starting to become bugged by this man. And that was truth.

Nyra gave a mock shiver to give the impression she feared him. "I'm sorry to bother you sir." She glanced at the guard, who seemed to have kind streak. "Thank you sir. You are kind." She got up and smoothly grabbed the money the dark one had been carrying. He was so busy arguing with the guard, he'd probably never know what happened.

"Do I make myself clear?" Heru mocked back in a wild fashion. Was he looking for trouble? Yes! And at the moment, it was something that he was enjoying. His wild smirk dashed across his face, as he continued to bicker with the commander, having a grand time all of the while! "You know that imitation is a form of flattery, don't you, my good sir?" Heru snickered, not paying any attention to the woman.
He could care less about what she was doing, and so dissed her on the spot. Who she was? He did not know, but didn't feel like finding out either. But she was an odd sight to see, and that the dark one had noticed from the start. What business did she have with them? Was she really all that she had mentioned herself to be?
Indeed. And Heru was too busy bickering with Osir to notice that she had just pick-pocketed him! What dumb luck for Heru! But even so, Heru quickly picked up on her deceit, and shot her an even darker glare. "So, my dear! You think you're smart? Hand it over, now!" Heru told her, drawing his scepter in a warrior-like pace.

Nyra gave the dark one an innocent look. "I have no idea what you are talking about. I am a starving peasant who just wanted something to buy food." She knew how to play this. Tears began to show inher eyes. She looked at the guard pleadingly. "Please sir. Do not let him harm me."

Osir did not know what this man was talking about. But he obviously, didn't see the woman swipe the money from the man--he was too busy scolding Heru. "Do not worry, my lady. He will be dealt with." Osir responded harsh, with some form of kindness in his words. Who was Osir going to believe, anyways? That scoundrel of a man, Heru, or a poor woman in search of help? The woman. Of course it would be her!
"And, you, filthy little wretch of a hound, do not test me! I will have you locked away in a dungeon all your own, if you continue your petty games!" Osir remarked, angry in the way he said it. He did not like to be toyed with, and this darkling of a man was beginning to annoy him greatly. "And not another word of mockery! Or your fate is certain." The man stated, pointing his blade at his throat again.

Nyra decided that this might be the best time for her disappear. While the guard's attention was on the dark one, she darted into the crowd, climbed up to a rooftop, and ran for her hideout. She had made it! She felt a little guilty about playing on the guard's sensibilities but she was thief and was true to her nature. The handsome guard would get over it. Maybe she would even see him again.
She laughed at the infuriated look the dark one had when he realized she had gotten his money. He had deemed her a stupid peasant but she was the one who had his money.

He looked furious now. How the hell was the guard going to stand there and let that thief get away with his money? Was Osir so blind and stupid that he couldn't tell that the woman was faking from the start? "You idiot! I can't believe you let her get away with my money! Are you so blind and ignorant, that you won't do your job?" Heru growled and snapped at the commander.
Heru did not care anymore about manners, and let his words fly out of his mouth like a plague of locusts. So what if he was arrested? He'd find his way out sooner or later! "So, how long are you going to just stand there? Why don't you arrest me or do something worth your while?!" The sorcerer was extremely mad by now, and was now pushing what he was saying out in anger.
He did not care. And Heru was only starting to think that Osir was a worthless guard of the Pharaoh. Worthless. Inferior. And all of the nasty words that one could think of. Indeed.

Nyra watched from a nearby rooftop. My! what a temper tantrum! The yells and screams of her latest victim could probably be heard for miles. the guard was as calm as could be. She did feel a tinge of guilt for conning the man. He had even tried o defend her honor in a way. She'll have to remember that the next time they met. At least she hoped for a next time. She had no doubt he could handle the dark one without any real trouble.
