- Time: 3:00 PM
- Setting: Cairo, Egypt. Town hall.
- Weather Conditions: Clear and sunny. No clouds.
The great Pharoah. He had an announcement to make to all of his people, and of course he wanted everyone to attend. His military and most trusted advisors were there, as well as the many citizens. This was a special time for him, and as he sat up in a special throne made for him at in the town hall, he kept his kingly face without too much emotion. "Once everyone is here, then we will begin." Seti I told his loyal group of royal caretakers, looking down from the far up perch of a kingly state. The Pharoah was more than excited on this day to make an announcement, and was sure it would be one that many would approve of. This was his statement as a King, and a great ruler to keep his people updated with the news. Great Seti I was not afraid of making speeches, and as such was farmiliar with them. It was something that he took much pride in, and he was well knowledged with giving them. One could say that he actually enjoyed it! Looking to his side, he noticed that his most favored guards were standing by to protect him if the need had ever came, and looking up to them he nodded. Now all he needed to do was wait. Seti was a stubborn man, and quite impatient when he was forced to wait! He sighed at this, soon looking over to another throne-like seat, and thinking to himself. Where is the Princess? She was to be here as well. The Pharaoh wondered, soon resting his face on his hand. Anyone would be able to tell that he was indeed important. Why, just looking at him made you feel as if he was truly something special--and indeed it was fact! With his golden crown, and accessories, people could easily identify him as a king. The great Pharaoh Seti I of Egypt! Surely no one could match him in might! Or could they? That would be something to see!

It was inappropriate for the princess to be late for one of her father’s announcements. Naturally, she would have been there and arrived the minute he had also arrived. She would have followed shortly behind him; however, there had been several issues in which she had to deal with earlier that day. Recently, her chariot had arrived at town hall and moments later, she had gotten off. One of the many guards that had been traveling with her had placed the chariot in a more appropriate area, while the others had followed quickly behind her. It was an almost dreadful ride from the palace to the town hall due to the crowded streets. Perhaps it was for the best that she had been late as she was still capable of getting her work done. Then again maybe it had not.
Quickly, Nefertiri made her way towards her fathers’ location, hoping that he would not scold her for being late on such an important day. In fact, now she had to question herself of what she was going to state to her father for her tardiness, something in which was clearly unnatural for the princess. However, as she thought, she could not think of anything. And she could not, repeat; could not lie to her father under any circumstances. It was something unnatural for her to do! Her focus had been on the imperative announcement that her father was going to make!
Curiosity had seemed to be inserted into her mind as she made her way through the hallways in a very fast pace, while one of her many guards had tried to tell her to slow down so she would not fall. Clearly, the princesses’ balance was something that she took a great pride in, and in her mind that was not of her concern. It had simply been getting there! So, she ignored them, continuing to go at the quickened pace regardless of her guards comments.
As she arrived at her father’s location, Nefertiri’s slowed down as she entered the room her father had been in. “My sincerest apologies father for my tardiness.” She articulated, not wanting to state the reasons to her tardiness, she would make her way towards the throne beside her father. She didn’t find a point in it, and clearly it seemed as though he had been irritated enough that he could not start as of yet.

Seti looked over to his daughter as she spoke to him. "Do not worry, Nefertiri. You have not missed a thing!" He responded with a kind smile. He was only concerned about where she was, but he knew that he could trust her none the less, and he loved her for that. "This conference would not have began without you. I would have made sure of it!" The Pharoah told his dearest daughter, only then turning to look towards the people that were lining up for the speech.
Seti I was never nervous, even with such a large audience, but always calm and collected. He never minded all of the people being there, he just wanted to make sure that each citizen was aware of his statement. But all in all, he was not quite ready to begin yet as he could see that not everyone was present. Even with his old age, he knew his crowd when he seen it, and he was sure that not everyone was at attendance.
Looking back over to the Princess, he nodded slightly, and motioned for her to take a seat. "We will begin as soon as the commander is here. I do hope he has a great reason for being late. Did you happen to see him on your way here, Nefertiri? As well as the royal High Priest?" Pharoah Seti I wondered, soon pausing briefly in thought. If I know them both, then we should not have to wait for very long. I just hope that I am right on this one! The great king thought, soon looking back down towards the crowd to see that more have already gathered.
"I do hope that the citizen's are not becoming restless. It would be terrible to have a riot on our hands!" He spoke up, wondering when the right moment would come for him to begin his statement. He did not like to wait, and he was a very impatient man. But either or, it looked as if he would be forced to wait longer than what he had wanted to. The Pharoah's face soon turned near emotionless as he thought of this. They needed to hurry.

Forever May Not Be Long Enough

The traffic on the city streets buzzed angrily as many citizens were herded to the town hall, either walking or in chariots. Imhotep himself rode in a sturdy chariot, well accustomed to traveling in such. However, there was reason for such occassion. Not only had his prayers and sacrifices went too long, but now he was also late for the meeting of the Pharaoh's important announcement. Seti I would most likely be upset at Imhotep's short absence, as he was well respected and expected to attend this most crucial gathering. As only a High Priest, he did not know entirely everything the speech would consist of, although he was aware it was considerably valuable. His priests would not come beside him, this time, as they were about praying in the temples and leaving offerings for the Gods. As much as Imhotep detested his occupation, he did an exceptional job in maintaining it. Perhaps now they would not be angered in his short period of vacancy during a most important event.
On the stone streets, the animals below him galloped wildly, although Imhotep maintained his balance and chariot's mobility quite well. There was every once in awhile when the wheels would veer to avoid oncoming pedestrians or civilians who would walk onto the cobble. Of course, there were many others in his situation that needed to continue their journey to the meeting as well. And when the Town Hall came into view, Imhotep instantly jumped from the slightly immobile vehicle that was taken from him to be cared for and hurried in, though with a graceful and authoritive manner. Upon his arrival before the door was opened, abruptly Imhotep's movements became fluent and thoughtful, his hands positioned together as a High Priest's would be as such. At his entrance, his head bowed slightly in acknowledgement to the Princess and her vile father, King Seti I. His coal black gaze lay directly ahead of him as they should without peeking to either side to catch a glimpse of anything or anyone.
Beside the Pharaoh on his throne, Imhotep halted and looked out into the crowd of gathering citizens, beginning to apologize. "I am sincerely sorry of my belated appearance, my King," he atoned with an emotionless expression upon his features and within his voice. With his focus, however, the High Priest took notice in that the Commander of Egypt's army was tardy as well. His appearance was rather important at this meeting, more important than Imhotep himself. Imhotep infered that the statement included something essential of their war's status. If not, there was plausible explanation why the Commander had not arrived quite yet. This was an interesting thought of the entire reason of this statement. For now, patience was a virtue, and so Imhotep stood tall with his hands planted respectively behind his back.
ooc- Oh god. Have not played with Imho in a while. So my posts will probably be a tad short until I can get back into the groove again.

She smiled; pleased to hear her father’s words that she would not miss a thing. She respected her father and trusted that he would keep his word. “Thank you, father…I will make sure of it that my tardiness will cease regardless.” She said calmly, listening into her fathers every word. She knew it would never happen again, this was something that was probably a once, in a blue moon thing for Nefertiri to do. In other words, it had been very, very rare. “I did not see the commander on my way here.” Soon, Nefertiri would realize that her father had just spoken of the High Priest as well and shook her head, although would soon stop upon hearing the words of Imhotep and would acknowledge his presence. As she took note of the tardiness of others, she began to wonder what had been on everyone’s schedules that day. She was sure of it that the announcement was planned ahead of time, something in which everyone in her father’s court was bound to be aware of, otherwise the gathering would have been quite small. This alone had seemed to make the young princess wonder on the reasons for everyone’s tardiness. She knew that she had a valid reason; however, she was uncertain about the others.
Hearing the last words of her father, Nefertiri would raise her eyebrows but would immediately lower them. On her journey to the town hall, Nefertiri paid little mind to what the people were saying about the announcement and why they had been called there. Her main goal earlier that day was simply getting there and hoping that she would not have been, scolded for her tardiness. Upon taking more consideration to the subject, she now greatly wished she listened to the bickering of some citizens on her way there! It would have given her a better view of what the citizens were thinking by listening to them while making her way towards town hall. Perhaps by listening in, she could have been the voice for her father for how the people had been acting towards the announcement.

Sad monster. Heru hated the fact that he was called to this meeting as everyone else was, and he really did not see the meaning of being there. Why do I even bother? He thought soon looking to where the Pharaoh and other royalties sat. Why was he even there? It was pointless. Truly. As he made his way through the crowd of people, he noticed the crowd as being restless. Pity.
But for what reason are we called here? This is a terrible timing! Heru thought angrily as he stopped near the front of the crowd. He was a man who deeply hated the daylight hours, and of course, it was because of his sensitive eyes. The darkness was much better anyway. "Why doesn't he hurry up already? I don't have time for this." The dark man muttered, looking down towards the sandy grounds.
The great and wealthy sorcerer was clearly growing impatient. He did not want to be there, and he would be extremely upset if the king's statement was of no concern to him. Dressed in dark clothing, Heru was indeed a mysterious man, and most would stay clear away from him to say the least. Does he have a good reason for making us wait and stand around like a bunch of morons all day? Thinking to himself once more, this time crossing his arms in a folded position. Would this time ever pass?

He was late. Osir knew this all too well. But he had his reasons, and they were indeed important in matters. Quickly, but still keeping his proud state about him, he headed towards the area where the great royalty sat, and where those of important status waited as well. Osir entered calmly, but stopped respectfully as to let the Pharaoh take notice of his arrival.
"I am sorry for my late arrival, Pharaoh. There were matters of a different sort that needed attending to, and I could not help but follow up on them." Osir said with pride, only then to speak up once more. "I shall not be late again. You have my word." He nodded, and then took notice of another whom stood nearby.
Imhotep was the one that caught his attention--but why you may ask? Osir was never fond of the man, and he did not believe him to be a truthful source to Pharaoh Seti I. Looking back towards the crowd of citizens waiting for the king's statement, someone else came into his view. A rather dark and strange looking man to say so.
That man down there does not look of good will. Hopefully he won't cause trouble here. The great commander thought, soon taking wait for the Pharaoh's words. The strong man was unsure of what was to be discussed at the current town hall meeting, and wanted to know of what would be happening as of lately. Interesting.
